Josh McCall
Executive Vice President
Josh joined Sonny’s BBQ in August 1990 – the Summer after high school. Josh had plans to join the Air Force but quickly fell in love with the BBQ business. Starting as a dishwasher, Josh worked through most Team Member roles and was promoted to Kitchen Manager in 1991 and Assistant Manager in 1992 before being promoted to General Manager in 1993. Josh was later promoted to Area Director in 1998. In 2000 Josh became a Managing Partner and in 2003 took on the role of Director of Operations.
In 2014 Josh became a Certified Sonny’s Pitmaster and competed professionally in BBQ competitions from 2015 – 2017. Josh’s team placed in the top 10 several times including a Florida BBQ Association Grand Champion finish at Mulberry, which resulted in an invitation to the American Royal World Series of BBQ in Kansas City. Josh was also the first Sonny’s BBQ “Spirit of 68” BBQ Cook-Off Grand Champion.
In 2016 Josh and Brandon Manly founded In-Fire Group LLC acquiring 9 Sonny’s BBQ locations from Sonny’s Franchise Company. The company merged with the BBQ Management locations, owned by Ken Kirkpatrick and Chip Dixon, which together went on to become iServ LLC.
In 2019, Josh co-founded iServ LLC and became Executive Vice President where he sits on the Board of Directors with oversite of BBQ Operations and new store development. Josh also serves as the Vice President of Sonny’s BBQ Franchisee Cooperative Association.
Josh married his high school sweetheart, Melissa in 1991. Together, they have two children Angela and Brandon, and two grandchildren, Faye and Renton. Josh and Melissa primarily reside in Ocala to be near family, but also like to spend time Yankeetown, FL. where they enjoy being on the water.
